LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada)

The LINC program is now also offered in Surrey!

LINC stands for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada. At Educacentre, LINC provides basic level English training for adult immigrants to Vancouver.

Government-funded, classes are free to students and focus on basic conversation, writing and reading. The aim is to convey essential knowledge for a newcomer: health care, housing, employment, banking, legal and political system, as well as other aspects of Canadian society. LINC also allows students to acquire basic language skills that will facilitate job search and integration. LINC classes regularly connect with the community through field trips and local speakers.

The LINC program at Educacentre College is focused on French speaking immigrants and is currently offered at levels  2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Taking part in the LINC program at Educacentre also allows students to access a variety of complementary programs offered in French, basic computer training, volunteer opportunities and much more.
