The Health Care Assistant Program is designed to provide students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as front-line care-givers, and respected members of the health care team, in community and facility settings. Under the direction and supervision of a health professional, graduates provide person-centred care aimed at promoting and maintaining the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of clients/residents.

Graduates of the Collège Éducacentre have skills that are adapted to the labour market and adaptable to its future evolution. The students’ innovativeness, respect, engagement, open-mindedness and communication skills in French and in English set them apart from others.

Health care workers, also known as Nursing Assistants, Nurse Assistants, or Caregivers correspond to category 3413 of the National Occupation Classification.

This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
This program is recognized by the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
