At the end of the program, students will be able to greet and accompany, respectfully and with empathy, people facing personal, interpersonal and social challenges, with the aim of contributing to their well-being.

Through observation and professional judgment, the students assess the person’s needs and uses intervention techniques that are appropriate depending on the situation. The students ensure the follow-up and reassessment of actions implemented in order to give back the power to act.

Graduates of the Collège Éducacentre have skills that are adapted to the labour market and adaptable to its future evolution. The students’ innovativeness, respect, engagement, open-mindedness and communication skills in French and in English set them apart from others.

Social Support Work corresponds to category 4212 of the National Occupation Classification.

This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.

Admission requirements

  • Proof of high school completion or equivalent. Mature students (19 years old) may be considered for admission
  • Successful completion of French Studies 12, or equivalent with a grade of C (60%) or better OR completion of the College Éducacentre French Writing Assessment
  •  Letter of motivation written by the applicant
  • Citizenship OR permanent resident
  • Two letters of recommendation

The following conditions must be met before the first practicum:

  • Criminal record check for the practicums
    • Online criminal record request
    • Online criminal record sharing request
    • Request on pre-filled paper form 
  • Evidence of up-to-date immunization / vaccinations and other vaccines to be received according to the requirements of the internship establishment
  • First Aid Level

Tuition fees

$ 7,395 + (cost of books to be determined) including $ 35 for the file application

It is possible to be funded for college programs under certain conditions. If you are or have been unemployed for the past 5 years, you are a single parent, or if you are receiving social assistance, you may be eligible for financial assistance.

  • 3. TAKE THE FRENCH TEST (You can take this test online). The test has 3 parts:

    • Grammar (choice of answer)
    • Reading comprehension
    • Writing (250 words).

    You have up to 3 hours to complete the test.
    Once the admission fee has been paid, you will receive a link to take your test.
